From minimalist designs to extreme embellishment, here are some of the best nails Justine Carreon* saw at New York Fashion Week which we are extremely inspired by.

“Sometimes the simplest detail is the most effective,” says nail artist Keri Blair. She went minimal in her design for Delpozo, painting a thin white line that extended past the cuticle.

Referencing working girl films like The Apartment and elle-nyfw-fw16-beauty-nails-rachel-antonoffHow to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Miss Pop for Kiss created five nail art looks for Rachel Antonoff’s fall collection. Our favorite of the bunch is this quirky red lip detail with a black French tip.

Nail genius Naomi Yasuda created a dripping elle-nyfw-fw16-beauty-nails-opening-ceremony-imaxtreenail for Opening Ceremony’s futuristic collection.

While Christian Siriano described his collaborative nail design elle-nyfw-fw16-beauty-nails-christian-siriano-courtesywith Jamberry in this way: “The marble print is mysterious yet visual, subtle but complex, and tipping between the boundaries of femininity and masculinity”.

And finally our favourite…. Celebrity nail tech Maria Salandra elle-nyfw-fw16-beauty-nails-fenty-x-puma-by-rihanna-gettycreated the frosted, three-dimensional nail look for Rihanna’s debut runway collection. Pure genius and no-one can deny this work the title of art …. NAIL ART! Why not try something a bit different and more adventurous next time you come in for your manicure? Use this as another way to express your individuality… whatever this may be!
